Do you remeber before you went on HRT?

Hey Guys,

This may fall under the weird MTF question, or even something for Mulder & Sculley!
I've been on HRT for 13 months and my emotions, and "thinking" have changed in ways I can't really "keep up with". I went from boy mode where my thinking may have been "female", but I had no concept of the level and "multidimensional" aspect to each and every emotion! I mean, I start getting mad at myself for being "silly" and the tears start rolling. Then I get like a 180 degree emotional change to being upset with the person who hurt me to begin with!

So... Do you guys remember this? Do you now think like a boy and just get mad? Say... Hey, F-them! I moving on! ?

I'm at a point where I can't "not experience this range of emotion". I'm OK with it, because since starting HRT I have never been happier! I guess I just need some help understanding the emotions. Thought maybe some of you could explain this "Brave New World" to me? :icon_help:

It's interesting hearing this change from the other way around.

I hated my emotions before, everything would make me cry and it irritated me. I wasn't able to get properly angry even if I felt like I should be, instead I would just start crying. Every emotion made me cry, it was ridiculous. Sad? Cry. Angry? Cry. Happy? Cry. Embarrassed? Cry. Startled? Cry. I would also get really stressed and flustered at every little thing that went wrong. If I'd had a bad day something small like the garbage bag splitting would reduce me to tears.

Now I'm definitely more like...eh...whatever. I haven't cried in ages. I feel much more in control of my emotions. I feel more....peaceful? There were too many emotions rushing around in my head before, it was like constant white noise. Now it's finally quiet.

I recognize the "female" emotions you described, but I don't express my emotions simply through anger now. They are just a lot less complex - a lot more linear and they tend to happen one at the time.

The only difference I notice like that is I feel more helpless when women cry. More bewildered. I used to feel more confident I knew what was going on and could help, I guess.

Since starting hormones I feel exactly the same as I did before, just less cranky. Nothing changed. I don't think hormones can fundamentally change people. I cry less, but I am generally more happy so its expected. My emotions are just as varied and complex as any other persons. Men can be just as emotional as women.
