Wow. Things have progressed so fast and I just wanted to share this with the rest of you and maybe give you some hope!

About a week ago, my significant other came out and told me that he wants to go through with the transition from mtf. I had already known that he may do that, but I think he was worried about telling me (heartbreaking  :'( I had always told him he was perfect the way he was and I think I gave him the impression that I didn't want him to change!! If only I had known I was coming off like that....) Anyways! I was super excited at the aspect of this happening, still am, and we are in college so we are offered free counseling (many of the councilors specialize in gender issues) so his first meeting is this Friday. Also, we found a gender clinic offered near our school that is specifically geared towards the trans community so AWESOME! Tbh, I never felt comfortable being perceived as a straight female (I consider myself pansexual), and I think that my loves wonderfully fem features will really come to life once he begins hrt. So neat that I finally get to be in a les relationship :P

Anyways, to the coming out portion. I told my mother first, since I figured once we told his parents we might need a place to go and my mother is a bit more understanding. She took it totally great. I had to explain quite a bit to her, but it was simply cool. But tonight we were talking to his mother (we live together at his mother and fathers house, college is 'spensive!) and he came out to her, man she almost cried hearing about his childhood stories and I think all the pieces fell into place for her. I just can't believe she was so accepting and wow. I'm just all jittery now and filled with happy butterflys! Telling our respective fathers won't be as easy though! Oh well.. But this was just wonderful and I wanted to share it with yall!

That is great! There is no way of knowing how each person will handle the news about their loved one, but sometimes it actually brings families closer together. Hope that is the case for you and your girlfriend. Good luck with your dads. :)
