Thought I would share.

My family for the most part knows about Brooke, in the sense that I have a *friend* named Brooke who is TS. No ones really said anything negative, but then again they don't know what kind of *friend* Brooke is to me. So it's kinda like *I* am in the closet.

So the other day I walk into my Mom's house and she calls out that I had mail from NY...and oh by the way she opened it by mistake.
I couldn't see her from where I came in and my heart began to race. I knew the mail was from Brooke.
All I could think was my Mom just saw a bunch of "I love yous" to me from a woman.
Funny thing was I wasn't panicky about in fact I was ready to tell her everything, but when she handed me the envelope it didn't say *Brooke* on it lol, it had her *boy* screen name from another board on it. So I didn't have to say a thing.

heh yeah, but in a good way. It was like *ok here we goooooooooo* LOL.
The truth is I would love to tell because that would mean I had a reason to tell. In other words when Brooke comes out to hers, I will come out to mine. Also, I don't see the need to put my kids or otherwise on some roller coaster of *wtf is up with Mom* unless Brooke and I are actually going to be together.
The reality is I have always been my own person and whether my family likes it or not, they wouldn't bat an eye prolly.

Probably not a bad idea TWC.. but some people take for-ever to "deal" with it... I told my mom sorta early and it still took her over a year to be comfortable with the idea...
