well i decided to forget the lemon blonde color for now until my body matches more what my character looks like, I went for a natural blonde look and it turned out great....i did it with nice and easy clariol product for now. This time it didnt get orange like the last time (with a different brand) , but in the future I should let a pro do it. I dunno it looks fairly good I will take some pictures when I dress up on Friday.

I don't really like the color blonde at all for women past a certain age. Bottle blonde accentuates the harshness of one's face and makes one looked washed out while brunette or auburn are lively and colorful, while not bringing too much attention to the "harshness" in your face (and wrinkles and dark circles).
I can see me
I can see you
Are you me?
Or am I you?

Those box colors are cheap for a reason hon. Keep an eye on it because your hair will probably turn a brassy color.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Worse than that is dyes are very hard on your hair. If you are blessed with having a good head of hair, you want to keep it!

Haircolor isn't necessarily extremely harsh on your hair, it's the pre-lightening that damages it. Box colors usually use a high level developer so that people with darker hair can lift it to what they advertise on the box (which doesn't happen all the time with box colors). Bleach is *very* damaging to the hair as it basically erases the pigment out of your hair and, over time, destroys the hair shaft. You should *always* have a professional color your hair if you are going 4-5 levels higher than your natural color, because mistakes with bleach can mean fried hair that breaks whenever you brush it or even hair that melts off after the application.

Also, word of advice to anybody reading this: ALWAYS tell your stylist if you have put color in your hair. It effects processing time and if you don't let them know, your hair may come out 2 or 3 different colors.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Ok I think I have a few pictures that finally really show off the woman inside. What do you think? I took these in B&W for a more gentle effect. Now my hair is still blonde/brown at this point.

I probably don't get to start till november or december *sigh* I have been seeing my therapist officially for 1 month. Heh so i wonder how my features will change, i can't even begin to imagine looking at myself 1 year from now, wondering like madonna says "who's that girl"

I guess maybe I have more of an adrogynous look going then for now?

It will be interesting to see how HRT feels in the 1st month

If I took the exact same pics that you took and posted them on Susan's like you just did I would be in serious trouble and probably banned.

If you are looking for justification or validation for transition, especially due to things your mother has said, etc. then look no further, you already have all the justification and validation you need.  Now it's just a matter of taking those first steps and causing the woman on the inside to begin to show on the outside.

I'm going to take a minute to address this issue.

The rules in the Terms of Service covering this situation are:

4. The use of images, photos, avatars, or the posting of links; which are of a threatening tone, contain obscene or pornographic materials, are intended to titillate, or which depicts illegal acts; will not be permitted.

5. The posting of messages on the chat or forums which are of a threatening tone, contain obscene or pornographic materials, are intended to titillate, or which depicts illegal acts; will not be permitted.

The key term is "titillate."

Shawn's original photos, even though they described them as "sexy," were not intended to "titillate," in my opinion.  I have no doubt other moderators and administrators reviewed the photos prior to Shawn's edit, and found no violation.  I fully understand it is a judgment call.

We often see post-top surgery photos of our FtM members.  They are allowed.  It may seem like a double standard, to allow a male-looking breast photo, but not a female-looking breast photo, but those are the rules.

And if any person finds a post offensive, or in violation of the Terms of Service and Other Rules to Live By, please report them to a moderator.  I thank Shawn for being sensitive to the issue raised by Noey.

Personally I don't have a problem with nudity.

I would say the rules are that men can show their chests because it is commonly acceptable.  And women can't show their chests because commonly it is unacceptable.  If a man gets in trouble for showing his chest it is because he is not being accepted as a man and vice versa.

Transition is about a process that I am encouraging Shawn to get involved in (be that her desire).  Maybe present her case at a walk in clinic (I have) and obtain hormones that way, in a day's time.  I would imagine that waiting to be able to get started is uncomfortable.  My experience was that I had to make progress by actively transitioning in order to manifest my inner woman and I wasted a lot of time and effort and youth until I finally got started.

Wasted time is really my only regret now.

I am thinking that Shawn might try Lyon-Martin's on Market St to try to speed up the HRT process.

I thought lyon martin closed?

The rumors of their death have been greatly exaggerated. No, they were rescued thanks to the generosity of the San Francisco community.

No worries, I am going to go to the Tom Waddell clinic on Tuesday, I was refered there by the Alliance Health Project at SF Hospital.  Tomw Waddell is supposed to be able to see me , I currently have medicare and medi-Cal also (in san mateo county though) even though I am moving to san francisco hopefully next month. So hopefully something good will come about from seeing someone there.

As far as the pictures go, I think I have seen myself as having pecs for so long before that I subconciously did not see them as breasts even though I really do have actual breast tissue, I am learning to be more prudent now when it comes to my top.
