I went to visit my mom last Friday and I took my sister and her daughter with me. I went to my home town and ran into my sister. She was standing on the corner with her daughter. I pulled up to the stop sign and yelled out hi to her she said Hi back and began to walk off. I yelled again, is that all you got for me. I haven't seen you in four years that got her to looking to figure out who I was. I said do I look that different? I thought you were a woman that i have seen around town she said to me. she could not believe it was me. Her daughter said she knew it was me though.

Anyway I talked her into going to visit mom with me in Tennessee.

I needed to see my mom. I felt that talking with her on the phone was not enough. She needed to see that this is making me happy. I did not wear anything other then tomboyish clothes. We got there about 9:00 PM and sat up until about 4 in the morning. It was just my mom and two sisters sitting around the kitchen table talking. My mom had a puzzle she was working on and asked us if we wanted to help her finish it. Alice in wonder land it was really pretty. We did not talk about me or what I am going through just how thing were going. She made me some tea and a plate of chicken. I finish my chicken and tea and took the dishes to sink as I turned around I saw a butterfly magnet on the refrigerator. It looked like the one I wear on my hat. I asked her where she got it from and started talking about how I like collecting butterfly pendents. It was my great grandma's it was given to my mom by her mom and she showed me more of them that she had. She left the room for a minute and came back with a box. "I have something for you," she said. she open the box and started taking out butterfly pendents and laying them on the table. She gave me about six of them. There was this one that I knew was going on my other hat as soon as I saw it. She looked at me and said "I never thought I would be sharing my jewelry with my son well you know what I mean as she corrected her self. I said yeah I know. She handed me one and said this really makes you happy doesn't it. I smiled and put my hand on my chest and said yes, it does. After that moment I felt free and my personally switched and the real me came forth in front of them.
I felt like one of them for the first time and I felt how they were seeing me slowly change. My sisters picked on me a little but none the less I was one of them and it felt wonderful. The night moved on and the girl talk kept coming. I look at my mom as she put a piece of puzzle in its place and said, " it feels good to be here." She looked up at me and smiled. It does and I'm glad you came. it was getting late and they all started talking about going to bed. My mom asked me where I wanted to sleep before I could say anything my younger sister said, "well since you are a girl and all I guess you can sleep with us in my room." Everyone giggled and we walked back to her room while my mom got me a blanket. Stacy,my younger sister, got into her bed and Melisa, my next to the youngest slept in the floor  next to me.
We talked about things that I never dreamed of and did a lot of giggling. Stacy said, "God this feels like a slumber party." I rolled over on my side and put my hand under my cheek and said, "so this is what it feels like." They giggled at me and Stacy replied, "you are such a girl." I rolled over on my back and pulled up my blanket glowing on the inside smiling all the way. we all said our good nights and went to sleep.

I will never forget that night. It was one of the greatest times I ever had in my life.
