Was this a compliment?

Went to an off site lunch with someone at work, not a date.   He said that he knows I do not have any interest in dating guys but that if I ever wanted to that I should have little trouble because I am very nice, thoughtful, smart, and cute.

In a way this was an odd statement because everyone at the office knows my sweetie is female.

I think he was giving me a compliment, rather laying on the flattery.  I reiterated that I am happy with my female companionship for sure but thank you.

The linguine was good.  We had a nice conversation about sports mostly.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Creepy as it may be I think you should take it as a compliment. I would be cautious around him as this may signify interest.

I think it was a compliment.
He was just letting you know that if you decided to bat for the other team, he might be interested. And everything he said is true! You are all of those and more.

I think it was a compliment.  I don't know if it was anything more than that, but congratulations on the compliment.

I have had some second thoughts on this but I do not wish to overthink it.
It just came out of the blue.  I have used my best interpretation and I take it as a compliment rather than "bootlicking."  Time will tell if it is the latter, but for now, saying "thank you" made sense.

It was intended as a compliment.  But it was a pickup line, and given that he knew you play for the other team, was a bit creepy.

Accept it as a compliment.  But be careful around him.  If he does it again, the creepiness factor doubles.

What do you all think that "cute" means?

I guess it varies depending on who said it and who hears it, and context.

Sometimes I see cute and adorable puppies!
