It's time we had a cheerful thread here.  Earlier this year I went on my first protest march - the local "Reclaim the Night" (you might know it as "Take Back the Night"😉.  It was advertised as being "for women" and one (only one) rather radical feminist got a bit sniffy about my presence.

Yesterday I went on the smaller "Reclaim the Moonlight" walk - http😕/www.womensgrid.org.uk/groups/?p=1445 - and note who it's for: "for all self-identifying women".  That's explicitly writing me in, as they need to really as I'm on the committee.

This is activism for women's rights, but just by being there I'm making a statement that t-women are women.  If there is any question about "what sort of woman" I am, the answer is the sort who gets involved in organising women's rights activism.

I hope your event is well attended.

I was Recently included into a an online woman's support group for our Summer work crew that is quite progressive and has a pretty even ratio of men to women. I and most of the other girls didn't feel like it should be any hoohoo that I'd be included and therefore I was surprised to hear that there had been some back channel talk about that I might make some women feel uncomfortable talking about "some topics".  :-\
I later learned a few of my friends went to bat for me and pointed out that if back channel gossip was going to be conducted, they didn't feel comfortable discussing anything in front of them, and if they didn't cut it out they would be outed as the bigoted B****es they were. all of this happened without me (or others not involved) learning the names of any of the women involved, neither the heroines or the ->-bleeped-<-s. Now that's solidarity.

That's really good support Mercédes.  If there are some topics they are uncomfortable talking about then just don't talk about them in public.  I do like your friends there - that's the sort of friends we need to take care of.

I go to the Boston Dyke March every year - and every year they actively welcome trans women. There are "trans dyke" stickers for us to wear, there's a table staffed by trans women, there are people marching carrying explicitly transgender-supporting signs... it's a really affirming and lovely experience.
