If anyone hasn't heard of,
postsecret.blogspot.com
, this is a great site. People mail in art postcards with their deepest secrets, which they've never told anyone. Then they get posted anonymously on the site.
What I didn't know is there is a forum associated with it where people discuss the secrets. I never saw the postcard, but I ran across a thread called,
postsecretcommunity.com/chat/viewtopic.php?t=291509&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
in which a bunch of people talk about being misgendered. Some seem to embrace it, while others do anything they can do avoid it. I thought it might be an interesting read for some people here.

I once did "sir'd" a woman. In truth, I saw a poster, and I said something along the lines of, "oh wow, he looks pretty ripped!" Turns out, it was [Name Removed], she would not have been pleased. I was embarrassed at having called her 'him'.

Wow, I completely messed up that link. Copy and paste, maybe?
