Hi everyone!

Today marked 2 weeks since my SRS with Dr. Suporn here in Thailand. Things have gone remarkably well for me as I've had relatively little swelling from the start. I was so pleased that he achieved 7.5 inches of depth  I had the "v shape" sutures removed on Friday; I had my second post-surgical exam with him yesterday; he had his first look with a small speculum and seemed very pleased. He stated that there was no active bleeding on the skin graft; that I should start dynamic dilation today and also start using the larger size dilator  :o

Well I had also signed up for the beach house trip today so this morning I did 15 minutes of static at full depth and 15 of dynamic; I figured I'd try the larger dilator this evening after dinner. The beach house, of course, was beautiful... I enjoyed my complimentary oil massage (OMG that was nice!) We had also stopped at the Chinese Temple on the way. It wasn't a super active day; it was really nice to see something other than the walls of my hotel room and the lobby.

Ok, on to Mr. Big...   I started with 15 minutes, static, at full depth with the medium dilator, then did about 5 minutes of dynamic to try and relax. I was surprised that the larger one went in rather easily although there was a fair amount of pain and pressure... I took it slowly and reached full depth. I have to admit that it was a struggle to keep the big one in for the full 15 minutes; I had taken 2 tramadol 45 minutes before dilation and I'm sure they took the edge off but the pain I felt was enough to worry me.

The dynamic dilation with the medium size is just fine... much more interesting than just sitting there.... But does it seem too soon to be using the large dilator? There was no more dark-colored blood than usual when I took it out; I guess I'm just worried that I'll tear something. Does it take much longer to get used to the large than it did for the medium? Suporn suggested that I be doing dynamic with the large by my next appointment on Friday but I think that's a bit too ambitious for me.

Advice? opinions? experiences?   Thanks so much, in advance, if you could offer any information

Sounds like fun to me. I'll try googling it.

Dr Suporn:
The second sort, dynamic dilation, is designed to reduce the scar tissue contraction of the vaginal graft and this is done by first of all inserting the dilator to the pre-determined depth, pressing hard for 15 seconds, releasing a little and then moving the dilator in a circular motion for 15 seconds. Rinse and repeat for fifteen minutes.

Well, I don't think it is too ambitious, they know what they are doing.

You don't need to do static anymore honey, as soon as you get to depth go straight into dynamic with the medium.

After 10 minutes of really good dynamic dialation (i.e. make it uncomfortable) it actually makes the large on go in fairly easy, much easier than after just 5 minutes of dynamic. I found the dynamic actually less painful than just static, once you get warmed up that is.

So 10 minutes dynamic with the medium, the do 5 minutes dynamic with the large. If you havn't already you will be getting a lesson on dynamic dialation.

And don't worry, it is unlikely you will tear anything.

Use lots of lube!!

Hugs!!

Jessica,

Sounds amazing.  Did you meet anyone that had more than one surgical procedure for one visit?
  •

JessicaR

LOL, they played Lady Gaga videos on the way back from the beach house :-)

Multiple procedures? YES... I met one woman who just had FFS; 14 days after she will have SRS. Something also common is to have hair transplantation done while recovering from SRS. I also heard a rumor that someone just arrived who's having SRS and AM in the same procedure, although that just seems insane to me.

I had a tracheal shave at the same time as my SRS. But that is not a particulalry invasive procedure. Barely noticed it, kind of distracted by all the stuff happening between my legs.

What's AM?
breast augmentation aka boob job.

I haven't even gone anywhere near the big stent yet! I think I took it out of the box once in thailand to have a looksy at it, shuddered and put it back. I figure that if your healing is going well and he feels that you're recovering well enough already to handle the larger size so soon then go for it! Just start gently for the first few days as the rotation is new to that area. He seems selective with this so it must be determined by the surgery and healing. Sounds like you're doing well! One of the lucky ones perhaps.. but we'll see! :P

I figure that once the pain has gone down from the medium then I'll give the biggen a go, I know it won't be much different but right now even the medium is painful still. I seem to go through a cycle of having a few days of good then a few days of tough then repeat. Plus if I work up the big one now I know that as soon as the pain comes back I'll just retreat to the medium so I may as well wait until I feel ready!

I remember week two.. it felt so open and like anything could slide in there! I remember at the time I though "I know this is going to get tighter so I must remember how open it feels now and know that one day it will feel like this again".
Enjoy week three and four they are the best but don't over do it!!!!!!!! >_<

Jessica I am glad you are doing well!  Thailand is an expensive plane ticket.  I do think Thailand has several procedures that are ahead of U.S.
I have read that Thai surgeons can do a scalp advance and cut out some scalp with hair.  The hair is then transplanted into the scar.
I have also read about procedures that improve sensitivity for SRS.  Actually I have not read about 7.5 inches of depth after surgery.
I thought you increase depth by doing dilation.

Although Suporn himself does not do any hair work, he has a doctor that comes to the clinic for his patients; this can apparently be scheduled during your stay here.

Depth is set at the time of surgery; as far as I know, you can't increase depth afterward. Suporn's technique usually yields better depth because he uses the scrotal skin rather than
penile skin for the vagina itself. Good thing because HRT had shrunk me to about 3.5 inches and I was circumcised. Dilation is meant to keep the vagina from closing up and softening
scar tissue, not for increasing depth.

You are warned, after surgery, not to move things around down there much for at least 2 months, but I've felt a little bit....enough to feel confident that sensation won't be a problem ;-)  Dr. Suporn makes two
areas of sensation, using the entire glans in the process.... one being the clitoris and the other a little deeper inside. That's probably what you've heard about.

Funny story, though,...  At my last checkup, Dr. Suporn told me to start using the large dilator as follows: Static dilation for 15 minutes, dynamic for 15 minutes. At today's
appointment, I found that it was a translation error; he meant 15 seconds! lol  No worries, though.. holding the large one in for 15 minutes was certainly a chore (and painful) but
it did open things up a bit. The dynamic dilation is more interesting, at least; I'm going to try it with the large tonight. I was also given the OK to restart hormones today!!!
That's such a relief because the hot flashes alone were getting crazy! To go from 6 years at 6mg/day to nothing was apparently quite a shock to my body. I hope I start to
feel back to myself again soon.

I really have to say again, though, how pleased I am with the cosmetic result. To think that that's going to improve in 6 month's time is just amazing! I look in the mirror in
awe at a surgeon's ability to do this for us.... Yep, it's painful... and I'm still feeling the fatigue. It's been 17 days now and I still have to be careful how far I walk; stairs, especially,
cause pain afterward. After all I've experienced, though, I have to say that I'm so happy I came here and did this....

Jessica.

I just want to say how wonderful it is to read these positive and hopefull posts for those you who have made it to post-op.

One or two post-op, sadly, seem to be a little less positive, problems can get the best of us down, now and again. But I know we are all here to support them.

Just wanted to offer the encouragement.

Jessica thanks for sharing.  Does Suporn have a problem with a two inch scar on the scrotal sac and electrolysis to remove most of hair?
How long before surgery do you stop hormones?  When can you fly home?  Can Suporn use a hormone drip in IV pain meds?

I am very glad that you are pleased!

I had a one inch scar on each side of the scrotum from a self-castration attempt and I still got 7.5 inches. You would have to be evaluated here, in person, to determine what effect
your particular scar would have on the outcome of surgery but the worst-case scenario would be a reduction in potential depth. Suporn removes the top layer of skin from the scrotum
that removes all the hair, making electrolysis unnecessary for his SRS patients.
You have to stop hormones and anti-androgens one week prior to travel to Thailand; the guideline for resuming hormones is three weeks after SRS but it really depends on how
you're healing. I was allowed back on estradiol 17 days post op because there was no more bleeding and the skin graft inside was healing quickly. All SRS patients are required to
stay in Thailand for a minimum of 24 days, preferably 30, after which you can fly home.
As for a "hormone drip"....  HRT meds effect the way your blood clots. You simply cannot take HRT meds, by any method, prior to and directly after the surgery. This isn't a requirement
unique to Suporn; you would have to stop HRT before any invasive medical procedure. I wasn't thrilled about having to stop HRT but the risks far outweigh any benefits you would
gain. It's only a month... that's not so long in the grand scheme of things. I certainly felt a few emotional effects and the hot flashes were really annoying but I suffered no other ill
effects.
If you're seriously considering Dr Suporn for SRS you should go to the clinic's website. Just Google "suporn clinic." There's an email contact there; Sophie can answer your questions
better than I can.
