Head Cold From Hell

Weds I started to lose my voice. I was going out to dinner that night and at 5 pm had to cancel. Thursday I had to cancel work, and Friday, Saturday isn't a heap better. I feel like crap.

I get spike temps and hallucinate. If any of my ramblings on here are more bizarre than usual, put them down to fever. Or just me, they are quite similar

According to "Dr Karl", if you block your nostrils with rolled up tissues or cotton wool it raises the temp inside your nose back to 37 and helps kill the virus.  I tried it last cold and it seemed to help a bit. Also saves blowing the nose!!
Get well soon darl, hopefully it won't go beyond 7 days.

I've even had flu shots for the last 5 years.

There may be nothing worse than a woman scorned.
but try an Immunologist with a cold.

As someone at the Lab said, the flu jab this year was really only effective on last year's strain.
At least we used to be able to take a nose swab and do culture and sensitivity testing for free.
I prescribe lots of rest, fluids, panadol/aspirin, trash magazines,and videos.

The flu virus is VERY good at mutating. The CDC tries to predict what the dominant mutation for a winter will be and make a vaccine for it. Well, sometimes they're wrong and we get a different flu. And sometimes they're right, and hit it spot on; but nature abhors a vacuum, so if they do get it right, another mutation will take off instead. So whether they get it right or not, we still lose.
