Hi Everyone!

I've actually been posting for a few days so I thought I'd better introduce myself.  I'm a 47 year old bi-gendered physical male living in Los Angeles.  I came to the realization of my gender identity only within the last few years.  I identify as both male and female which to me explains how I didn't realize it sooner.  I was, of course, raised male and being equally comfortable with my male and female halves didn't realize what all the signals of my female half really meant until about 2 years ago.

I've been unconsciously becoming more femme over the years.  It's easy to see looking back but at the time I didn't think much of the changes.  I then ran into the Becoming Ella blog and through that found the COGIATI.  I took the test which resulted in almost 50/50 split between male and female.  Now, I realize the test is very informal and is not yet scientifically proven but the results really fit what I've been feeling and experiencing.

Since then I've read a lot of blogs and sites like this and even joined one or two but never stayed with them.  I believe this place is different in that transgendered issues are openly discussed without the sexual or fetish overtones.  So it looks like I'll kick my shoes off and sit a spell!  :)

Ember

PS  Regarding my name avatar name, I was looking through gender neutral baby name sites and found Ember, a name of Germanic origin used in England and Western Europe.  I like Ember but I really wanted Teagan (Scottish) but the name was already taken on this site and I thought Tegan (English spelling) might be confused with the Teagan already here.  Any opinions on whether Tegan would be ok to use here or should I stay with Ember?  (I really like the name Teagan/Tegan and have considered asking my girlfriend to call me that when I'm En Femme).
