Akiro Verano, the former male teen star who co-hosted "Master Showman" is now Zyrene Mae Verano, Miss Gay Philippines - World 2011.

The former singer-actor-host underwent a sex change operation in Thailand in 2008.

In a media interview, the transgender admitted that she is taking hormonal pills to enhance her body features and voice. Verano likewise revealed that she is taking glutathione to whiten her skin.
