Disowned

She glances
She tries to face herself
Every time she gets closer
Every time she runs further
So much pain
So much loss
Living merely according to fear
Surviving the life
Ruled by deceit
She runs out the door...
But comes back in...
Wanting a safe place
Only to ruin again
The keeper lets her stay....but for a moment
And her own guilt...
Her own greed carries her back out
Back out to frigid moonlight nights
Where she seeks her destiny
To die in the gutter
Young, frozen, and with no soul.

Even with all forgiveness
Even with all warning
She deceives again
She runs back out the door
Hoping for one last chance
But the keeper turns her away
And shakes his head
He knows the loss
But he can't bare to see
That she could be better.
