Surgery and Breast Reduction... a Question

I know this topic is here, still on this page, but that was for a B cup... and the last anyone ever bothered to measure for me I was a FF... so it's HELLA different between the two sizes (I can't even bind and pass without really baggy clothing to go along with the binder and 2 ace bandages). My mom (who doesn't know I'm TG yet) knows how badly I hate my breasts, and has suggested that I look into getting breast reduction surgery, she thinks that I could get it deemed medically necessary since my back is screwed up as well. My sister (who does know I'm TG) thinks that a reduction might help me with my self image and self hate, and says that if I can get it paid for through insurance, why not just go for it?

Now, my question is... after seeing the other thread and hearing them tell the original poster to just get the surgery done in one lump setting if they can do that... is that advisable for me, or should I try for the breast reduction with insurance and then go for the removal at a later date, after saving up more money?

It is completely up to you, but it sounds like you might aswell go for the reduction if you can get it on insurance.
Either you wait until you can get chest surgery, living with the chest that you have, or you could possibly get some sort of relief with a reduction, and live with a more manageable chest until chest surgery later.
Thats the way I see it anyway.
Good luck with everything and I hope all goes well.

I know the surgeons that I have worked with said that the amount reduced is between me and them ... so if I wanted to get a reduction for medical reasons they could do a complete reduction and bill the insurance for it

Robert, that is very good to know when I the time comes for me.  I am in b-c range so probably willn't qualify for a reduction with any insurance.

Thanks for the info guys... I'm really, really considering getting the reduction not only for my sanity but for my back as well... It's been driving me nuts lately and I've been having to use my pain meds more and more, and I'm just not a fan of passing through life in a haze of meds...

Actually, I think that I'm going to make an apointment with my doctor and talk about the steps needed to get the reduction put on insurance, and hey, if I can get rid of the whole sheebang in one quick (not very painless) blow, then so be it, and I'll be a much, much happier man!
