So I'm done with getting burned by nylon. I think almost getting a face full of molten plastic has sealed my decision to change jobs. Aside from the physical labor which has become tougher to do,  I'm more stressed than I've ever been which I am sure is a good cause for me being ill.

So what I want to ask is, what advice would you give someone for getting a job mid-transition?

Well discrimination will be a problem even if there are laws to protect you, they can be circumvented by interviewing, and the selection panel just saying there are more suitable applicants.

But, decide what sort of job you want. What are you qualified for? Is the new job gender neutral? Will it be something you are happy to do?

Can you show a good employment history? Do you have a CV (if required) and referees?

I know the job market in the USA is terrible but it has to get better sometime soon.

Hugs

Hi I've found that trucking is very open minded in the U.S. The company I just started with employes over 100 trans folk in any part of your transition. Most of there ins. Even helps with the cost of mess and surgery.

You could always go back to school for something more accepting like cosmetology or massage therapy.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Star river, you want to name the company as they sound like they are very trans friendly to employee so many trans people and have a good insurance too.  I want to work for a company that has good insurance.

CREngland!?!  I always get such a bible thumping vibe off their trucks. This just seems really weird to me... don't they have a flatbed division? How do they work out therapy? Most therapists can't or won't do skype. Mine's VA, so I'm limited to M-F, 8-4... do they have a terminal in the DFW area?
