Hello. My name is Emily. I am 25 years old. I live in Minnesota. I am a transsexual woman. I have been out for about two years. I've been on hormones for not quite a year. I am also in the process of getting my name legally changed and am very excited for my court date.

I am also really shy and have dealt with depression my whole life. Transitioning has been the best thing in my life, but I unfortunately still suffer from anxiety and depression.

I like to read and listen to music. I also play the guitar.

I found this site quite a while ago, but did not think to sign up as a member of the forum until now. I hope to learn from other people in my situation, and listen to advice and gain wisdom from others here.

I'm still not sure how to do a lot of things like posting my avatar. But I look forward to participating in this forum. I'm not sure what else to say. Sorry if I'm doing this wrong.

Hi Emily, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm up near Boston. I'll give you a freebie, you need fifteen posts to put up an avatar. The rest of the rules you really ought to give a good read. See you around the site, hugs, Devlyn

Welcome!  Like you, I found this site ages ago, but didn't sign up until last year.  And even once I signed up, I didn't post for about year!  Haha.  I do things REALLY slowly.  Perhaps deliberately?  Calculatedly?

I also play the guitar.  Woo!

Glad you're joining the conversation.

Emily,

I hope to see you around the site for a while. If you allow yourself  to embrace this site and it's family you will find treasures you never thought possible. I know I have.  This is my home and I feel safe here with my newly adopted family and friends. This place allows you to grow at your own pace, or not at all. It's completely up to you.

Come on in, kick the shoes off and stay a while. We hope you stay for a long time.

Hi Emily, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 9363 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Welcome, Emily.

If you have any questions changing your profile to add an avatar or photo, just ask.  I will be glad to help you do it.

Like Dev said, after 15 posts some additional features will turn on automatically for you.

Stay warm!

Hi Emily,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

If anxiety and depression are still chasing you, might be an idea to check out a good gender therapist in your area. They can point you in the right direction to kick those hasty habits.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
