Madman is an alright selection off of the friday the 13th slasher craze. A couple of scene are very creepy specially towards the end where you see madman mars watching the people from the woods. All you see is this like silhouette but damn its creepy.  Zombi is a classic! Fun fact for those are who are not keen on horror films it is considered an un official sequel to dawn of the dead since in europe it was released as Zombi. Zombi is known as Zombi 2 in other places outside the US. The Burning is another good slasher movie.

Theres Ils. Also Calvarie. Frontiers. Martyrs is another one to check out. The Stendhal syndrome is pretty good also.

I think I am going to watch Friday the 13th in the theater.  I haven't seen any theater movies since Rob Zombie, Halloween.

So which are the good horror movies to you, that aren't boring? Whats the good scary ones?

Well um try stuff by Lucio Fulci, George Romero, Dario Argento, Mario Bava, and Ruggero Deodato. Cannibal Holocaust is a pretty neat one. Does anyone hear know of good Japanese Horror directors? that are not Mike Takishi and the ones making good horror films in the states. Like directors who made really good horror and splatter fair prior to the 90's? On a similar note. Midnight Meat train...BEST CLIVE BARKER ADAPTATION! It's either Hellraiser or Midnight Meat Train.  Ryûhei Kitamura is the man's name. He also did versus. Try some horror websites. Arrowinthehead.com is a good site to start out at.

I saw Friday the 13th. I guess it would be considered a remake of part 2. I am glad they got past that Jason's mother part that made the original unbelievable. I gave this a 4 out of 5 as I also gave the original 4 out of 5.

No Kevin Bacon, but it has a Jared Padalecki, which reminds me of the Clark Kent guy in Smallville, and the movie has same stereotypical chars (nerd, jock, , earthy girl, pot smoker, risk taker) that the original movies have. Has shakey camera like all modern remakes seem to have (during fights), which I do not like. Body count seems a tad low, but not by too much. I do like the mask explanation though it left me wondering why Jason hadn't killed that guy in the 20 years preceeding. I also wondered how the house seemed to have electricity, for the lights in the basement. (does Jason pay the power bill?). And does he replace the lightbulbs? I wasn't as much in awe as I was in the original with the mother's head surrounded by candles, as I was with this house shrine.

Be ready for part 2 or 3 or Revenge/Return, or whatever they call it, since it is doing well in the theater.

I am a master with horror movies there isn't many I haven't seen. The Strangers just didn't do it for me. Recently I saw REC it wasn't scary it was just very interesting there was some points in the movie which made me jump though. Its a Spanish movie with English subs. Brilliant!

Well the only movies that I think of belonging to the horror genre are the psychological ones. Therefore I'm gonna settle with good old The Blair Witch Project and Event Horizon.
I've heard good things about [REC] aswell, haven't had the time to watch it yet though. Definitely gonna enjoy that one. =P

Saw "the orphanage" the other day, lot like "The Others", if that gives too much away. 
Haven't seen Friday the 13th yet.  I might try and make it to the movies soon to catch it.

I saw Clive Barker's Midnight Meat Train. Some good old smashin fun. I gave 4 out of 5. Could have been a 3, but I like a few things, like the first scene. Not really scary.

added that one to Netflix.  BTW, anyone tried using a network-ready streaming device for Netflix?  Good fun.  Picture quality is only so-so, some of it depends on your internet connection speed, but I got through like 7 or 8 movies over two sick days last week.  =)

Prom Night remake the other day.  It was actually a lot better than I expected.  The villain was appropriately creepy, especially since I haven't seen "James Mattingly III" since "That Thing You Do".

Sorry for the late reply. I cant really think of any really good horrors at the moment, I find movies that are classed as horror. Funny, interesting, disturbing, or just complete rubbish.

A few off the top of my head! (Sorry if some of these aren't deemed horror)

Hills Have Eyes (Remake) I went to watch this in the cinema and found it VERY disturbing..
Hostel - After you get past the 30 minutes of porn the movie does turn into an intresting watch.
Saw (All of them) Interesting and extremely clever in my opinion. Definitely worth a watch.. make sure you see them all in order though! Disturbing because someone actually thought of that!
The Grudge I really enjoyed this film did scare me slightly though!

Netflix suggested based off my high rating of "The Devil's Backbone" that I watch "Let the Right One In" [Låt den rätte komma in] a vampire movie from Sweden. I must say, this was one of my favorite vampire movies so far, although not scary. It was more dark moody and though lovable. I thought the young actors were excellent.

The movie has a more children-as-adult feel, that has been compared to Lord of the Flies.

Saw V.  More of the same.  *yawn*  I guess there's a sixth one in the works. 

Watched the original House on Haunted Hill.  That was pretty fun.  Better than the remake anyway. 

Otis--better than I thought it would be, but more like a comedy.  Still, it was pretty good fun.

Room 6.  Ugggh.  Don't waste your time.

Watched the musical horror movie by Takashi Miike called The Happiness of the Katakuris . Strange yet it kept me watching despite subtitles. I gave 4 out of 5. Not scary but is worth mentioning coming from a scary movie and horror director.
