Im kind of worried my body will be very muscular and masculine here are my measurements. Chest:38, Shoulders:46, Shoulders:18(across), Waist:33, Neck:15, Quad:21, Arm:12, Calf:14. Im mainly worried about my upper body (my back) its really wide and muscular will it go away? I don't have a large skeletal frame but I cant be too sure it'll magically disappear. Also Ive been wondering whether I should loose weight now or after I start hrt. Is there any ways you ladies know how to loose muscle naturally I wanna get a head start before hrt Its just mainly alot of muscle I have, how were your bodies before and after your transition?

Nicole

Yes! I'm single

Well, you can lose the weight any time you like. It might be easier to lose muscle once on HRT, but it will be more difficult to lose fat - so, it's up to you.

Anyway, I haven't changed a whole lot. Lost five pounds of muscle or so, gained three pounds of fat, and that's a few months over two years. I was pretty skinny to start out with, always hovering around 100lbs.

Something went right, in any case. If I were to gain 10-20lbs, I might even have a shot at an hourglass figure - beforehand, my body was straighter than William Shatner (har har), so I'm actually pretty surprised. I might as well have not had a waist, and my hips were non-existent.

Fat redistribution will happen, and it might be pretty profound. I'd start losing the muscle if I didn't appreciate it, and I'd work on being slim and toned and fit for HRT.

just not do any physical activity, avoid anything that uses those muscles.

I know you probably didn't mean to actually give this as serious advice, but I'm posting just in case anyone thinks that ceasing your exercise routine is a good idea.

It's not. Ever.

Well ya why can't you just change your exercise routine to things that don't build muscle?
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Its all just natural muscle I never have worked out in my whole life, im still young so my body is still developing as a male I guess. I became a vegetarian in order to achieve my goal and im going to start doing extensive cardio also gonna pick up long distance running. I have my hormone apt. tomorrow.

Emm

muscle over time you can lose only thing that'll stay is bone(if that's what you go for)

Which is why I hate my shoulders :c

There is nothing really short term u can do it's something that takes time, but yeah stay away from protein and working out(unless cardio) like others said

You're going to want to cut down your caloric intake and force the body to burn muscle for fuel. If you combine this with cardio and HRT, you should lose muscle mass. Don't go below 750-1000 calories however. It's unhealthy. I used to be kinda muscular and the way it goes away is by atrophy and reducing how much you eat. A lot of it is genetic too. I had to use all kinda of supplements and andro to get to 155 lbs. and as soon as I stopped and reduced my calories, the muscles vanished like a virgin on prom night. Starting HRT should help. Since your young and you haven't worked out to get big, your muscles are prob a result of T. HRT should kill that and thus reduce your muscles. I'm quite confident it will. So don't worry. Be happy!

Really weird... short and small, and skinny looking yet somehow actually a little too padded (little bit of a tummy).... narrow waist and large pelvis but not much hip fat, so I just had weird dents in my hips.

I had low bodyfat for a girl just it was all stored on my tummy and thighs...

I have those weird dents in my hips. I'm sorta hoping they will fill out so it will give me a nice round curve below my nothing waist. It's there but not too defined which I also hope changes.

I don't know my exact measurements but here's a pic to give you a idea. I was pretty stocky and muscular. 5'7 180lbs. Large muscular forearms, solid neck, decent sized biceps.

As far as losing weight prior to HRT I would recommend that. Rumor has it that it is easier to lose weight with the T levels higher. I've read that just about everywhere.

I focused on weight loss two months prior to HRT. I started running like crazy and continued running until the 3 month mark on HRT. I managed to lose just about all my mass with the exception of my forearms they are taking their own sweet *** time.

I went down to 141 from 180. Now, I'm trying to put on some weight to fill out. I'm currently sitting at around 160. I haven't looked at a scale in awhile.
