Anyone use Kindle touch as an internet tablet?

Well the title says it mainly.

I use a Kindle type or touch, the one with the keyboard as part of the hardware, can I use it as a sort of Ipad thingy? To download email etc? If so how!

I have used a similar device called a Nook.
