A recent Australian Acadmy of science survey found that a lot of Australians are pretty dumb.

[Devlyn stop laughing!!]

OK lets try it.
No cheating. Post your answers before you look up the survey. And no googling.

How long does the earth take to travel around the sun?

How much of the Earth's surface is covered in water?

How much of it is fresh water?

Did humans and dinosaurs live on the Earth at the same time?

Is evolution still happening?

Just post your answers!

How long does the earth take to travel around the sun?
365.X days, I don't know X, but is less than 5 for sure

How much of the Earth's surface is covered in water?
something about 3/4

How much of it is fresh water?
maybe 1/10 or less ... just guessing

Did humans and dinosaurs live on the Earth at the same time?
Technically not. But i.e. birds are sometimes considered as dinosaur descendants, so who knows :)

Is evolution still happening?
yes

1. 1 year :P 365 days and then some (1/4 of a day), which is why we have leap years every four days.
2. 70%'ish
3. Most is salt water. 2 or 3 percent.
4. No. Unless you believe the bible  ::)
5. It sure is

On OKCupid there's a question that asks if the Earth is bigger than the Sun. The amount of times people say it is, is unbelievable.

I will also add. I am as thick as a plank.

1. 365.25 days roughly give or take a few minutes.
2. 70% roughly
3. I have no clue but with a lot of it trapped in ice at the polar regions I would venture to guess 15-20%
4. The common consensus is no but since the common barnyard chicken supposedly evolved from the T Rex I think at one time or another Yes.
5. Yes we are still evolving. For better or worst? We'll know in about a thousand years.

They can't be as dumb as some Americans...

How long does the earth take to travel around the sun?

364.25 days, approximately.

How much of the Earth's surface is covered in water?

Tough one...my first guess is 70%.

How much of it is fresh water?

very little, perhaps 5%.

Did humans and dinosaurs live on the Earth at the same time?

No.

Is evolution still happening?

Yes.

Just post your answers!
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

How long does the earth take to travel around the sun?

One sidereal year

How much of the Earth's surface is covered in water?

About 78%

How much of it is fresh water?

A little less than 4%, if you include the ice caps and fresh water aquifers, but not water vapor  (I got an "A" in my groundwater hydrology grad class) <pats own back>

Did humans and dinosaurs live on the Earth at the same time?

No, unless you are one who lumps birds in with the therapod dinosaurs.  I classify them as different, but related clade.

Is evolution still happening?

Yes, of course. But I cheated and asked my Australopithecine friend.

Just post your answers!

How did I do, Prof?

1. One year
2. I have no idea, 4/5 perhaps.
3. Fresh water? Like opposed to salt water? 1%?
4. If David Icke's conspirology theories about reptilians are correct then yes. G.W. Bush is one of them.
5. Yes. Transgender is definitely a proof of that :P.

Do we get awarded Australian citizenship upon the results of our responses?

365.25 days for a complete orbit of the sun (or one year)

Approximately 70% of the earth is covered in water? I think it's more but can't remember exactly.

Of that water only 0.001% is freshwater. (Again, there abouts).

No, there was a very very very very long time between dinosaurs and humans. The only
Mammals around then were small rodent types.

We are all constantly evolving. Every generation brings new mutations. Faster generations and reproduction means "faster evolution".
