50 Cent Says He's Not Homophobic; Offers Support To Transgender TeenYohance Kyles, October 2nd, 2013, 9:12am
After Hot 97 DJ Mr. Cee's public announcement last month that he has engaged in sexual acts with transsexuals, the topic of homosexuality and gender identity became a major topic in the rap community. One fellow Hip Hop star has decided to help one transsexual teen with the new Sundance Channel six-part unscripted show Dream School.
50 Cent is an executive producer of the show that recruits celebrities to provide guidance to teenagers who have either been expelled or have dropped out of school. The "In Da Club" rapper is giving his full backing to one of the featured students, a transgender boy named Alan. During his episode, Alan, born female, shares his ordeals of being bullied in school and his own mother not visiting him while he was hospitalized.
While 50 has been accused of being insensitive to the LGBT community in the past, the mogul says that he never had any issues with gay and transgender people.
