So you need to do name changes through the courts in the USA? Does that include changing your birth certificate and the gender stated on it?
In Australia we can change our name through the Office of a Births, Deaths & Marriage (or whatever they're called these days) and that's just a matter of filling in a form. I do believe there are now provisions for changing the birth certificate (at least in my home state) but I'm not sure if one needs to have been full time for x number of years or post-op.
