Switching Estrofem to Progynova?

I'm thinking about switching from Estrofem to Progynova.

I assume the major differences are that when taken sublingually, Estrofem yields the active form of estrogen that goes directly into the blood stream, where Progynova has to be taken to go through the liver, and be broken down and processed by the body into the active form of estrogen that then goes through the bloodstream.

However, I had the idea that maybe if the body makes its and processes its own estrogen via Progynova, it might be more accepting to it?

Anyone have any experience with Progynova, perhaps in comparison to other estrogens?

No the body doesn't magically make its own estrogens apart from the usual everyone has from their adrenals.

Both brands are similar in effect to the body so there's little point in changing unless a health reason. And you're getting this ok'ed with the prescribing physician, right?

My mistake... I didn't mean the body literally making it's own estrogen... but in terms of the body processing the estradiol valerate, which is a synthetic estrogen that the body then metabolizes into estradiol that's then used by the body... whereas normal estradiol doesn't have to be processed. I just thought perhaps the body might be more accepting to the estradiol it converts itself rather than "premade" estradiol. Might be completely off, who knows.

My next Endo appointment is next week and I'll be asking them about it, just between that time I thought I'd ask around.  :)

Both are processed when taken orally (sublingual or otherwise) but the valeric acid in estradiol valerate takes some extra processing (but not a lot compared to older more risky estrogens).

Estradiol valerate is intended to be swallowed (coated tablet to survive in stomach) compared to plain boring estradiol which has a number of delivery options.
