I like high energy, good BPM music to keep me moving on.  I like Top 40/Dance for cardio. Do you have playlists for different activities (running, interval training, weights, etc?) Post em here!

Great post Oh Hai, I've been trying to redo my playlist for running since I've been listening to the same stuff all the time.

My list is mostly System of a Down, all the albums I have on my ipod.

How can you not run fast when this song comes on?

There's also a Pure '80s mix in there.

The Mars Volta, and Slipknot.

My current favorite cooldown song is Alt-J's Taro.

-------------------------------
When I do yoga, I mostly just do DVDs which have a kind of Asian sorta background music. When I do it on my own, I prefer something kind of relaxing like Snatam Kaur.

------------------------------
Weightlifting, I like metal, so it'd be something like Slipknot, Metallica, Godhead.

Metal.  The heavier the better.  I don't do weights anymore, but if I go hiking, metal seems to motivate me to move faster.

I play that electronic dance music for cardio workouts. I listen to no music for weight machines, and bicycling.

Workout wise, I like to run/jog, walk (long ones), swim, and take bike rides. I have a few different songs I like to listen to depending on my mood. But I have been listening to mainly upbeat and positive songs. Trying to use the endorphins from exercise and the joy of music to beat away my blues.

My "Outside" playlist :-)

I use either a 1hr loop of the "battle" theme from Future Diary (Gasai Yuno), or a loop with a sword art online theme.  They both have the right tempo, and a kind of driving, percussive but steady pulse.

Which is what you need when you sit on a stationary bike for a couple hours.

If I want modern Western music and tempo variety, I'll generally run with a complete album, in order, from like Nightwish or something.
