I felt like I wasn't on the table more than 5ish minutes. She said I did really well and kept asking me if I wanted to take a break, but I was not under the impresssion most people needed breaks. So ... did I just do really well and as a result my treatment was short, or did I get less than an optimal treatment? Today my upper lip seems pretty clear, my shaving around my chin and jaw line has been paaaaiiiinfffulllll and difficult. I also don't know if she got along the underside of my jawbone. Can I ask a technician to go over an area I felt might have been missed, or is that considered rude?

Also, what should I expect after the first day? I wasn't expecting to feel stubble along my chin, underside of my jaw bone to the extent that I have today, and it's pretty dark, coarse stubble.

My first laser session was about 30 min. with breaks and it was on the whole face and little on the neck. The next 2-3 shavings after the procedure were very painful, but after 12 days, the burned hairs fell off.
The next session was about 15 min. with almost no breaks and the situation with the pain and the hairs was the same. Now, after 10 procedures, they do my whole face for 5-10 min.

Thanks for the reply!

It's been about 3 days, and shaving today was super easy - effortless and painless almost - so hopefully my treatment had some effect.

I'm pretty sure my treatment was ... between 5 and 10 minutes, but no more than that. Maybe the pain (it hurt like hell) caused me to lose track of time, but it seemed overly brief to me.

Would you feel comfortable asking your technician to concentrate on areas you think may have been missed in successive treatments?

Thanks again,

My sessions ran about 15-20 minutes, and yeah, the "stubble" afterward (it was actually burned, dead hair) was incredibly annoying. But then after a few days it all fell out, which felt fantastic.

10-15 minutes is about right

Can get legs face and under arms done in just under and hour.
All worth it.
So long and thanks for all the fish

It takes about 10 minutes for my laser sessions.

You can reduce the pain by putting on a numbing cream before the laser session. You can buy a premade cream called "emla", or you can have a compounding pharmacy make a tetracane/lidocane/benzocane mix that works better than emla. I think that emla requires a prescription and the tetracane/lidocane/benzocane mix definitely does.

I had my first treatment today (yay!), I lost a bit track of time due to the eye coverings and constant feeling of being stung by bees (I think I'll shave right before the next appointment, not just the same morning), but I think she spent around 20 minutes, perhaps a bit more.

To those of you who have been doing laser for a while: Does it take less time after a few treatments when there is less hair left, or is it about the same?
