Can anyone tell me how to post a photo?

Certainly,
You must upload the pic to a photo hosting site like "photobucket" www.photobucket.com , then just copy that pics URL (photobucket gives the URL proper IMG tags), and paste that where you want your pic to show.

Just to add to what Mark said, the link of an image should look like this but without the dots:

[.IMG]http://acoolphotohere[./img]
