Which best describes your thoughts about older women who don't hide parts of their body that are less youthful.

I wish they'd cover up. It's unsightly.
5 (10.9%)
It's rude because not everyone wants to see sags and wrinkles
3 (6.5%)
Horay for them! It's good when not everyone lives up to cultural norms.

A woman's aging body is beautiful and should not be covered up.

At the request of Peky, a poll about older women in revealing clothing (two piece bathing suits, bare midriffs, short shorts/skirts, low necklines, etc.) How do you feel when you see an older woman whose clothing doesn't cover everything?
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

It really depends on the individual. Some people can pull off that look and others can't.

If they can pull it off, and have the build, more power to them.

In all seriousness, I don't think age is the real barrier to wearing revealing clothing.  There are both young and old who probably shouldn't go there, but if you're over 60 and can still rock a bikini, go for it.

I think it's awesome, all the power to them. The idea that aged women are somehow by default unattractive and should keep their bodies hidden at all times is disturbing to me. I've seen many attractive women who are 50+ or even 70+ who look great in revealing clothing. And usually, I think it's a sign of confidence.

I'm sure one day I'll be that kind of woman too. If I'll be able to "pull it off" at a much higher age than I am now, I've no idea. All I can say about my body's future is that I'll probably still be of average weight, and I might look similar to my mother, and I'll likely have breast implants. But the shape and firmness of my body should not matter. The way I choose to dress is not and has not ever been, for other people. Also, sometimes it's fun to be a bit of an eyesore ;)

Whether older people should or shouldn't be wearing revealing (or no) clothing is eclipsed by the fact that other people shouldn't be deciding that for them.  :)

IMHO because I am only 40. If someone is comfortable with it why not. Then again if it's mature day at a nudist beach why would you not?

Agree!

Someone like Cher, Kris Jenner, Rachel Welch, or the late Great Joan Rivers can pull off more than most.

Dare I ask if the answers would be different if we were asking about male bodies instead of female bodies?  Muscle shirts showing somewhat withered arms, tight bluejeans overlain by a bit of a beer belly, Pajama bottoms with a big red arrow pointing to the somewhat reduced "packer"?

I consider both sexes in this question.

If the attire is inappropriate to the point that an arrest should be made .. well, that's true for everyone. After that, I may not personally like what I see, that doesn't mean that they shouldn't nor does my opinion out-weigh their own opinion of themselves.

If that's what they like and want to wear, so be it.

I have enough different problems to be bothered by other people clothing or lack of clothing so unless they really trying to get my attention I don't care even if they're naked.

Awesome VM!

This is kind of appropriate to me. I wore a shirt today to work that showed a lot of shoulder and was pretty low cut in the front. It was lower than I intended and I kept pulling it up. In fairness the first day after the weekend is always hot in my building, so I went for comfort. I found myself at the end of the day wondering if I was being a little silly with wearing what I did. Bottom line is if anyone is gonna look down on me they are probably already are for being  trans. Those folks don't matter anyway. I think we all make our superficial judgements of others. Sometimes it is good to listen to others (like you's) to remember what is important. I tend not to talk about other's looks very often, good or bad. Rather talk about their actions if possible.
If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

Well, if they are like me and still have a thin waist and a nicely toned body, why not?

I've been told I can pass for 40 even though I'm much older.

Come and visit Florida sometime if you think that seniors in reveling clothing is unattractive. Sometimes you will be amazed at how some of us care for ourselves. We have many clinics that specialize in maintaining a youthful appearance by optimizing hormone therapy, nutrition and exercise, not to mention plastic surgery.

I am 69 years old and I am very active in outdoor personal sports. You are as young as you feel.

Envy.

I just feel envy. The same goes for older men in revealing clothing. I miss the booty shorts of the  1970s. Beautiful bodies of any age, gender, size, should not be hidden. And ALL of our bodies are beautiful!
I myself participate in showing off, and my wife loves to show me off by dressing me in revealing outfits.

Wear whatever you want and you enjoy seeing in the mirror. Regardless of anything (body-type, weight, whatever...). It is true that some things may attract attention or scrutiny you don't want, but that is their issue, not yours. Be respectful but be you.

Every time I see one of those silly articles about "what not to wear after 40" it makes me want to actually wear it. I love fashion but it is still a very personal thing.
