Other A/A option besides Spiro in USA

What are my other options?  My endo only likes spiro. My T level is higher than I would like and I'm already on a high dose of spiro

In ireland we have Zoladex. Once a month injection. Don't know if its available in the US

I never once took spiro.  I did dutasteride for a year, then decided to get an orchiectomy.

How hard was it for you to get an orchiectomy? I am hoping to ask my endo about it on my next appointment. I have read that it is hard for transgender individuals to be cleared for it on some of the online resources I've read.

I went to Dr. Gary Alter, who follows the WPATH thingy.  All he needed was the standard 2 letters and several thousand dollars.  Some urologists will do it via informed consent, some will not.

It was so awesome to be finally free of the T.  I felt so much better without it clouding my brain and having one fewer pill to remember to take every day was great as well.

Mine was a piece of cake. All I had to do was provide my own written and verbal consent. That was it. My therapist would have provided a letter if one were needed. But that wasn't the case.

Hmm I see. I see my psychologist next week. Might ask her if she can write a letter for me just in case. Haven't done any RLT as of yet though. Thank you for your replies, maybe it isn't as daunting as I thought.

My therapist never made me jump through the RLT hoop. He thought it was a stupid requirement.

I had been full time for 16 months anyway, but oddly did not have my name changed legally until a a week later.

Bicalutamide (Casodex) is also used and available in the USA and is effective at low doses. Talk to your doc about it. It's a prostate cancer drug.
