Scheduling surgery with Dr. Schechter

I had a consult with Dr. Loren Schechter in Chicago. He was very nice and I imagine would be very informative to anyone who was interested in phalloplasty surgery as the resources available often are confusing if you solely rely on the internet. I saw a few picture of his results and I was pretty satisfied with what I saw aesthetically; however, I do wish he would go public with his results or send photos to those request them prior to a consult as it might draw in more people consults and make people more comfortable with travelling to see him as a surgeon. I am still waiting to schedule my actual surgery, which likely happen as soon as I hear back from his insurance consultant. I will keep anyone posted who wishes to be.

Nice!  I hope it is sooner rather been later as I know this has been something you have wanted for a long time.  I'm interested in hearing about your experience with Dr. Schechter as, like you mentioned, there's not much information about him.  Keep us posted!  Good luck!

The latest it seems like it would be is August at this point. I know he can do sooner, but I just don't know if I can. He is pretty flexible and he hasn't gotten a massive influx of people like surgeons who have been public about working with trans*folks have.

Hi -  I have a consult with him at the end of this month.  Would you say his results are comparable to what Dr. Crane has on his site?  I am really betting on this doctor as I have a student health insurance plan and would not be a student by the time Dr. Crane could get me in.

Any additional info you could give would be awesome.
