I am just today 3 weeks post-op and my surgeon discovered a hematoma on my left side at my 1 week appointment. I went into an emergency hematoma evacuation surgery which was absolute torture. I am now 2 weeks out of that surgery and beginning to worry because of bruising and hard swelling that is occuring on the left side. When i went in a week after the hematoma evac to get my drain out the surgeon said it looked fine but I'm worried there might be another hematoma?? my other side is healing just fine but the left is a little bit bigger than the right and still has some serious looking bruises and it is somewhat hard under my skin. Anyone have any experience with this?

Just about the same time as you. I have a hematoma on my right side, the doctor said just leave it and it should subside over time. Helpful. Incidentally, it would help to see it.

Are you wearing a post op compression vest? It should mostly prevent any problems like that.

I had a hematoma not long after surgery, had it operated on a week after my original surgery. I swore that it had developed another hematoma after the second surgery because I had swelling still and it felt hard (which the nurse told me was blood or other fluids drying up and they'd be reabsorbed by my body). I had a lot of swelling even 3 weeks after my hematoma surgery but it eventually went down. And also, some of what I thought was swelling was just some excess tissue that my surgeon can remove with lipo later on
