The day before national marriage equality was passed, New York said no to basic human rights for transgender people.

For 8 years GENDA, the Gender Employment Non-Discrimination Act, has passed the assembly without ever reaching the floor of the state senate once!

Even as counties in New York are moving forward with Transgender Anti-discrimination laws, we still have a long way to go. "TRANSGENDER PRIDE!"

Arrgh! I wrote my congresswoman about that bill. She just responded "I'm not on that committee." I double checked her voting record. She would never have voted in favor anyway!

How can I be living in an NYC bedroom community and still have to deal with reactionary politicians?

Given the season an appropriate quote from "1776"...

(Regarding the NY Legislature)

"They all talk very fast and very loud and no one listens to anything anyone else is saying. Consequently nothing ever gets done!"
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!
