"The actress, who played Aurora in Maleficent, is playing teenage Ray who must track down their estranged father (Tate Donovan) to get legal consent to allow their transition.

The film depicts Fanning's character living with her single mother Maggie, played by Naomi Watts, and lesbian grandmother, depicted by Susan Sarandon.

Originally called Three Generations – the trailer gave us a heart warming sneak peak at what the film has in store.

"I'm done with being the exception!" Fanning's character exclaims."

Just watched the trailer and am not looking forward to seeing this.  I hope it gets a decent distribution.
