A blue, pink and white flag representing transgender pride and rights will be flown outside Calgary's municipal complex this weekend for the first time — a decision welcomed by local LGBTQ advocates.

The city has previously hoisted the more widely recognized rainbow-coloured flag, which broadly symbolizes lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and transgender rights. It's been flown during Pride festivities, and once in protest of Russia's anti-gay laws during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi."

I intend to purchase a full length flag for my church. During pride month each year the rainbow flag is hung on the door entering the church. I thought why not the transgender flag?
