I had an orchiectomy earlier this year, and I think I experienced something very similar. For a few months after the surgery, my mood was all over the place, and my testosterone levels were running higher than they had been before the surgery (though still in the female range). I eventually went back on a much lower dose of the anti-androgen I had been taking, and that helped things to settle down. I do plan to taper off of it eventually, but for now I'd much rather not have to deal with the potential for hormone changes or mood swings. One thing you might want to consider though, is to ask your endocrinologist about taking progesterone. Progesterone is sort of like a very mild form of testosterone, without the bad masculinizing effects. There is a lot of debate about what benefit, if any, taking progesterone has for transgender women, but I think at least in cisgendered women, it plays an important role in the body's self-regulation of androgen levels by keeping the stronger androgens in check. I started taking it recently, and I think it's definitely helped to keep my mood more stable.
