Hair inside the vagina and scars outside vagina

Hi,

I had SRS with Dr. Brassard. I am mostly happy with results, looks good, works great, orgasms galore!, self-lubrication. BUT, he didn't remove all the hair in the vagina and I tried going a second time to him so he could remove it, he tried without any luck. Why this matters to me is because I'd like to just had random sex with a guy one of these days if I go out and happen to feel horny, feel chemistry, I can just have sex without him wondering why the hell I have hair inside my vagina and explaining to him I'm trans, yadi, yada. No hair, no questions. 🙂 So, any ideas on how to get the hair INSIDE to disappear permanently?

Second concern is the scars on each side outside my vagina that you can only see if I shave entirely the region. They are like thin lines that are a shade lighter than the surrounding skin (hypopigmentation). Anything I can do to improve their appearance?

Over time the neovagina is supposed to turn into a mucosa, with the influence of estrogen.
It might help to use some estrogen cream from time to time. Cream from a gyn, the otc cream has only few estrogen.


Concerning scars you might try a massage a few times a day for a few weeks, with coconut oil.

Another option might be tatooing ... the center from Mcginn for example has a tatoo specialist helping with pigmentation.

Another one might be to simply do nothing ... other people alluded to a womans problem ... if someone ever asked ...

I don't have a gynecologist. I doubt any gynecologist will agree to do this! LOL. Can you cite me the literature or provide link? I wonder if the woman who did my electrolysis would agree to do this. We would need to use Emla to anesthetize the region.

I already have quite high levels of estradiol in my blood and estradiol should have a significant effect on the neo-vagina already. I doubt a cream will have that much more effect. Are you suggesting the change to mucosal which it seems it has changed over to during the years, will result in natural loss of hair inside? Because even though my lining seems more mucosal, hairs are still there, to the same degree.

You didn't mention when your surgery was but my internal hairs took a couple of years to go away.

I don't have the reference at short notice.
There were three possibilities dicussed:
-plucking it out  (anaesthesia might be advisable)
-hair removal cream. Some say it did not work as expected.
-electrolysis , also with anaesthesia imo.

Imo plucking it out should not be that much of a procedure .

Yes the thought is that there are no hairs on a mucosa. Maybe it at least helps with extracting hair and follicles.

I spoke to someone who does genital electrolysis some time ago, so there are people who do it. Apparently its rather painful too.

How many months post op are you anyways?

I am 10+ yrs post-op! I used polysporin with Vitamin E the first couple of months, diligently.

I spoke to Dr. McGinn's staff and this is what they wrote back

"Unfortunately, now that you are post-op the hair can not be removed by Electrolysis inside the
Vagina. There is no way for the technician to see inside you or fit the tools required inside to treat
the hair" and "I'm sorry but that would be very tough to do".

Makes sense. How the hell can they see inside?

They might however help with the scar.

I guess for now, I can continue plucking (with fingers) hairs from inside.

I thought of using Vaniqa inside vagina but I'm scared it might cause skin complications inside and be absorbed into the body and have side-effects. Also it's expensive and needs to be continued forever. No thanks.

Like I said, Dr. B tried to cauterize a second time, going inside while under local anesthesia. No improvement and it cost me 500$, hospitalization fees.

I can perhaps try Estrace cream. Who knows? What have I got to lose? $$$...

I had almost two years of electrolysis down there prior to srs before I was given the go ahead for surgery. Post op, it's impossible to get it removed. Maybe you could shave tje visible hairs. I know it's not ideal but I can't think of anything else.

You were always extremly helpful for anyones questions about hormones and stuff... therefore I reincarnated to answer yours...

If the hairs are deep rooted they are not likely to stop growing even if skin turns into mucosal tissue after years, and are not likely to stop growing with any cream applications, etc.. The only solution in such case would be special gynecologic laser, which is otherwise used to treat various skin conditions, including inside vagina. Like every other laser it works on hairs with appropriate pigment. So it is possible to remove hairs IF the color is darker. Light and red hairs are impossible to remove with todays laser technology. I'm not familiar how common this lasers are. Good luck to you, and I hope you find a solution.

Hello everyone, Layla's Electrolysis in Los Angeles does post-op hair removal...so she told me while undergoing electrolysis with her prior to SRS.  Thankfully I have not needed that service.  She described it as a very unpleasant experience for everyone involved. Often requiring the aid of another person to hold the vaginal vault open using wood sticks while she zaps the hairs.

  Since I was on an expedited schedule for SRS, she expressed serious concern that post-op hair removal would be necessary.  As I recall it takes six months of treatment to get the area totally cleared.  I barely had three.  She really put the fear of G-d in me.

I have done a bit of electrolysis (not w/ Layla's Electrolysis) post SRS in pubic area for cosmetic reasons.  Perhaps expanding the area outward more than surgeons recommend would be a good call.

Whatever I have ever read in regards to hair left inside is that once you are post op it can not be removed. I am surprised Brassard left hair, I'm sure you would have rather undergone electrolysis and have waited that time had you known this? It sounds unpleasant! I hope you find a way to figure something out. Whomever mentioned the estrogen cream might be onto something. You could lower slightly whatever form of e delivery you have and use the cream Or gel in your vagina.. It will go inside the hair follicles and be absorbed there. It's bound to have a bigger effect on them if your body is absorbing it dermally that way. It's worth a try anyway.

In regards to the scars... BIO OIL. I had a BA some years back and the scars hardly got better, then from the point I used it they got much better within a couple of months. I had to have a lift and new implants since, so I know I can make the new scars better quickly like that. Make sure you do the circular motions while you rub it on.

Had I known there could be a slight risk of hairs inside vagina post-SRS, I would have definitely done genital electrolysis before but to be fair to Dr. B, this was mentioned in the document given to us before the op. I just skipped that part, didn't read between the lines. My fault. Back then, I wasn't as meticulous as I am today.

In the meantime, I will look into gynecologic lasers, my cousin's wife is a gynecologist. 🙂 Los Angeles is way too far, my other cousin lives there but going 5-6 times from Montreal, Canada to LA...whoa! no thanks! and not worth the cost. I can always ask my former electrologist.

Concerning the scar, what exactly is BIO OIL? Can you elaborate? I might either end up going to Dr. McGinn, where there is someone there experienced with this sort of thing or try and find someone locally. She also suggested a certain type of laser, Frasel, I think.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who's had this happen to them post-op. 2 other girls operated on by Dr. Brassard also ended up with hairs inside vagina. I strongly advise you do genital electrolysis before SRS with him, despite his recommendations not to do it. Follicle scraping clearly is not enough.
