For several months, one of the biggest things keeping me from coming out has been an event in March which involves hotel rooms. My logic was that if I were out by then, I wouldn't feel safe in the guys' room, but still wouldn't feel comfortable in the girls' room. Well, last week, I emailed my counselor at the high school, and when I talked to her yesterday, she told me that not only had she arranged funds to get me a private hotel room if we go, she also had made preparations to change my name and gender in the school records as soon as I'm ready to go public!
Basically, there are only a couple things left to do before I can be out in general: I need to tell my brothers I'm trans; tell my as-of-yet unsupportive father that he needs to accept my identity or lose his daughter; and let the close friends I've told so far that the secret's out.
Just wanted to share my happiness with everyone, especially those who've helped me come this far. Without this site, I wouldn't have had the courage to tell that first local friend and get the ball rolling, so thank you all so much!
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long, till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Congratulations!

I remember your makeup thread I answered a while back. Happy to see how far you've come. Good luck!
