"North Carolina's largest city passed a law Monday allowing transgender people to choose public bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity, which the governor had called a threat to public safety and warned that the General Assembly may step in."

I drove by there on my way home and they came up to my car and handed me a one of those NO flyers and I started laughing.  They had no idea I was transgender.

Thank you to the Charlotte City Council.  However, the next step is that the Republican Governor and Republican-dominated State Legislature will move at the next session override this measure through State law.  Transgender people are convenient political punching bags for right wingers.

"One key legislative leader signaled Tuesday that he is prepared to intervene. House Speaker Tim Moore said in a statement he would join fellow Republican Gov. Pat McCrory and conservative colleagues "in exploring legislative intervention to correct this radical course." The legislature's next scheduled session begins in late April.

"McCrory — a former mayor of Charlotte, one of the 20 largest cities in the U.S. — said changing restroom rules could 'create major public safety issues.'"
