Penile dorsal nerve

I'm curious about something.  I'm 8 months post-op and it seems that my recovery is complete.  I noticed, however, that at the top of my vulva, somewhat above the clitoris, there is something under the skin.  If I press on it, it feels pleasant leading me to believe that it is where my surgeon, Dr. Chettawut, put the long dorsal nerve, vein, and artery that ran along top of my former penis.  My question is: first, am I right about what this 'lump' is, and second, does it shrink in time or stay there forever?

Hello there, I know this is not related to what you are asking but im cosidering to do my srs with dr chettawut but i read some negative things about him. How was you overall surgery and are you happy with the results and aparience?

I had my SRS with Dr Chett, although coming up to 9 nine years, I tell what I know. first up I am very happy with the outcome and I love my body and my life is fantastic.

I am fairly happy with the outcome, although I never had anything to compare it to. If laying on my back with legs bent and spread, it appears to not be 100% symmetrical, the left side is slightly larger, but to real obvious and corrective surgery has never entered my mind. The scar lines are faded now although you can see them if you look for them. I do have a small hair growth and I am comfortable with that, to make the scar blend.

I am very sensitive and can climax to what I call fantastic. the clitoral area is very sensitive and I have what I call good sensation upon penetration. My partner is the only post op sexual partner I have been with, but he has no trouble achieving climax while in me, so that side of it is great.He understands about my past and we have openly talked about my surgery, even have shown him my surgery pictures. he loves me for me and our relationship is just like any male/female hetrosexual couple.

With travelling to Thailand, I would not go alone, like I did. A care person would have been nice, especially just to talk to, the care staff were good, but English is not a strong point. After surgery is uncomfortable, but I was mentally ready to tackle this as I wanted this for me. First few weeks peeing was very messy, but now it is just a natural thing and I can't imagine it any other way. as for Dr Chett. himself, I found him very nice and understanding and he installed confidence in me at the pre op examination, explaining in good detail and informing me it will turn out right. I have had no problems or issues in the vaginal dept. ever.

In summing up my transition and then surgery turned my life from nothing into something special.

Dr. Chettawut is a fine surgeon, one of the top two or three for GRS in Thailand.  His prices are moderate, as well, due to his efforts to keep overhead low.  He performs his surgeries in his own operating room, not a hospital, and pays close attention to the medical qualifications of his patients to tolerate invasive surgery under general anesthetic for 6 or 7 hours.  He performs just one major surgery per day, so you can be sure that he is taking all the time needed to achieve the best outcome possible.  He performs the "non-penile inversion" method which uses scrotal skin to create the vaginal lining.  Penile tissue is used to create the vulva (external genitalia).  The outcome of each individual's GRS will depend mainly on the patient's unique anatomy and other factors.  My results were quite good, in my opinion.   I experienced almost no numbness post-op, and I have good sensation throughout.  My clitoris, clitoral hood, labia majora are perfect in my judgment.  The labia minora are smaller than I expected, but, frankly, it doesn't matter to me.  I have no intention of having any followup adjustments done.  I am pleased that there is no hair growth in my vagina, just a few hairs at the bottom entrance to the vagina because I didn't have any electrolysis done in the perineum area prior to GRS.  I experienced very little pain post-surgery, and was able to get up and walk about just 4 days post-op even though it was not encouraged.  By the time I returned home, I experienced only minor discomfort when sitting, none while standing or walking.  I have no reservations about recommending Dr. Chettawut for GRS.

Sounds familiar, but I suspect the rewiring might have more to do with it too.  I think the body 'remembers' where things should be, but I could be wrong.  Perhaps this is why orgasms are so easy post-op, or at least for me they were... and much more satisfying.

I have not been able to find any specific description of how the long dorsal nerve and artery of the penis is placed within the body during vaginoplasty, or what happens to it over the course of time post-op.  In my case, I can tell that it has been inserted above the vulva on top of the pubic bone and feels like a rather hard lump under the subcutaneous layer of fatty tissue.  I was wondering if this nerve bundle mass diminishes over the years.  Anyone several years post-op still feel this lump of tissue?  I think I'll ask Dr. Chettawut about it in an email and hope for a response.

I recently had a tummy tuck along with my breast augmentation.  I had some loose skin in the abdominal region that I wanted removed.  I consulted with my PS without divulging my trans status, but when he described how low on my abdomen the tummy tuck incision would be made, I had to tell him about the penile dorsal nerve that was placed there during GRS.  He was glad I told him about it, had no problem with me being a trans woman, and after my surgery I could see that the TT incision came very close to where the dorsal nerve bundle is located.  Everything went fine surgically.

I personally know several women who had surgery with Dr. Chettawut and they are all very happy with their experience and results. If I were 45 or 50 years younger, I may have gone to Thailand for my GRSas well. As it were, for various reasons, I went to Dr. Bowers and have no regrets.

I have a similar thing inside I can feel, above my clit. I assumed it was the inside part of my clit, since there is more to it than the little bud I can see and feel. It feels quite pleasant to press on from the outside and swells up when I'm aroused. My cis GF has something similar.

I went to Toby, nearly twenty years ago now, and I too have found the clitoral dorsal nerve to be quite delightful.
