Home sweet home! Did my first dilation at 5am cuz limo comes at 7am... flight was at 10am got home ate now I'm doing my 2nd dilation... I think sitz bath after this one... while I was posting on facebook I felt emotional I'm not sure why... I guess I was sad to say goodbye to the recovery centre lol... and back to reality.... bf picked me up had some make out session and yea... almost lost my wallet and started panicking... the trip home wasn't really that exciting... a lil uncomfortable but that's it

Most of us felt that way too, even if you seem to hate it on the first night lol.. but in the end that was the place that makes you feel reborn again. It will always have a special place in my mind for the rest of my life.

Yea it's weird... the first night was horrible but it became like a home for that 6 short days... it went by quick!

Update:

It is so hard to keep the bottom of the v dry... they say to keep it dry as much as possible but how if you have to dilate 4 times a day do sitz bath twice a day and vaginal douche twice a day and shower once a day... I air dry it as much as possible but it doesn't really help! Ugh so frustrating... oh the clot on the clitoris fell out... but the little gauze is still there meaning I can't see my clitoris still!

I'm so happy! I have a vagina now! I never thought that this would happen... I'm thanking the Canadian government! I can't wait to heal... I want to use my new hardware!

Wonderful! Just a few weeks and you will be in business! It still is only a dream for me. I am still anticipating an email. Seems to be dragging! I agree with you concerning the gov support! We are lucky in that regard. I just wish they would start funding more surgery centres. We in BC seem so far away from the action. All the Best! Hugs, Kelly

I think whats great is that you dont have to worry so much anymore when now , if you meet someone or have someone , feel free to be yourselves! One advantage i believe in BC is that breast augmentation is covered there but not in the rest of the country! I might be wrong but seems ive heard that?

BA is covered in BC but the wait list is long and also the criteria seems hard. Only if there's a very small or non existent growth then you will be covered (A or smaller) but most of us have bigger frames, so sometimes even a B cup is nothing much but will be denied.

Thats is sad and unrealistic, as you pointed out, bigger frames need a more appropriate cup size. Its really obvious when buying clothes , seems (for me anyways) I find something that fits well everywhere else but the front, its assumed (off the rack) that if you have a bigger frame you have boobs that match!

I used to wear DD breast forms but decided to accept my Bs. I have a big frame but no one seems to notice.

I agree that it's a shame that off the rack is such a bother, but if you can sew or find someone that can alter you would be amazed at how it will look.

Here in Ontario BA are funded as well but jfrong is right... criteria is hard... a few provinces fund it... I know someone from I think she from Manitoba and she got hers done funded same with grs...

Breast augmentation is covered in Ontario. The requirements for coverage are quite simple. No breast growth for one year and during that same year a person must be on hormones. It has to be documented and I would recommend doing what I do. See your doctor who is in charge of your trans health care or you family doctor, either should be fine. Get them to measure you and then do so every 3 months there after until the records show no growth for a 12 month period. You could have this coincide with quarterly checkups. One you have the documented evidence you just have to get your doctor to write a letter saying you have no growth in a 12 month period while on hormones. Perhaps OHIP will want a hormone report as well but probably not. The process is much simpler than for gender surgery. You must have documented proof though and that would mean having someone else do it. I don't imagine OHIP will accept a person saying they have been measuring at home and keeping notes but you can do that too if it makes you feel better. It will be your doctors say so that will count with OHIP. It is not hard it just takes some time. If you have already gone a year or more with no development you could try to report this to your doctor and they might be ok with that in order to write the letter but most will probably want to do the documentation.

no breast growth from what though? you mean someone who's been on hormones but has never had much breast growth, similar to what we were saying about BC coverage, I manage ok but as I was saying the standards are too low not allowing that when your bigger frame you need s bigger size , which might not be covered. I transitioned 25 years ago and I reached a plateau after a few years but would like a more average size for my frame

I hear you. Still on the waiting list with Dr B here in BC for BA. I just hope by the time I got to see him the criteria has changed a bit as what was discussed about a year ago at this trans health meeting.
