Hello all,

Today was the day for me to make an account here.
I'm totally not Emma in real life yet, but i'll get there. I'm a 22 year old guy from Holland who was born with girl powers.
Today i had this weird but amazing dream. I was in my college studying like allways.. But as i went to the toilet i saw that i had long hair, female clothes and actually felt like a girl, not that i normally don't, but actually knowing i am. When the that kicked in.. I ran in so many classrooms full of people just saying wrong classroom and other stuff... Dreams are kinda hard to remember completely. Very good feel, nice dream, so much love, happy me, accepting and all, BEEP BEEP BEEP. When my alarm killed the dream :P The only thing i was doing was repeating it over and over in my head, it might have taken like 30 mins before i actually stepped out of bed, not that i normally would'nt but still. This was a day to remember for me, my doc knows my girl powers but i have not seen the therapist yet cause of this 140day waiting period. I do also know that this ain't going to be easy at all, but this is what i have to do.

Few itty bitty questions:
I did not see a donation topic, so I hope that i don't break any rules but: Can i donate anonymously via paypal or ideal? I'd like to contribute cause of the urgent need right now.
I need to wait over 140 days before i get a notification to make an appontment. Is this normal? Is it smart for me to talk to someone else (besides family and friends) beforehand?
And how irritated are u cause of my bad english :P, sorry for that.

Cheers!

Hi Emma welcome to susans.

Your English seems reasonable good to me  ;D

I'm in Canada and I'm sure it's going to vary slightly where you are in the world but yes long waits seem quite common. Where I live to see a psychiatrist that specializes in gender dysphoria their wait is 2 years.

As for seeing someone before hand. it would really depend on you, how you are doing and your reasons for it. Also limited by what they could potentially do for you. If you want to talk to someone to help figure things out then I would say going sooner would be good. If you want to see someone to start HRT or change gender markers etc. that would depend on if they can do those things for you.

I went to a psychologist here to help move things along.  She was able to do the letter and forms to change gender markers and also referred me for HRT. Everything else I'm doing good with so those were the only things I wanted from her.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Donations are not required but are welcome. You may donate anonymously and the donation system works through Pay Pal. When you make the donation on this site, you will provide your account information so the two are linked together.

The time for your appointment. Depending on the country you live in, the wait time can be very short or very long. In the United States, it may only take a few weeks and it the UK some wait time could run 2 years before receiving treatment. It depends on the medical system of your country.

As for family and friends, telling them is a very personal decision. I told my parents before starting treatment but other people wait until they are in transition. If you are unsure, you might want to talk to a therapist first as the therapist can help you deal with the many problems of telling others.

Don't worry about your english. I was never able to learn another language and sometimes when I read my posts, I wonder if I know english.

Hey hoi!

Groetjes,
Eline
