Having SRS with Dr. Satterwhite May 2017

Hi everyone!
I am posting on here to see if anyone would be willing to talk with me who has had surgery with Dr. Satterwhite. I just have a few questions about the whole process, where you stayed, healing and your post op. care. I would really appreciate any response or advice anyone has to give! I'm super nervous but super excited and so happy I've chosen Dr. Satterwhite and just want some advice from other girl's who have done the same!

My thoughts are to stay in the city, both to be near cpmc and also hopefully easy walking distance to stores. Satterwhite wants patients in the area for followup visits at 1, 2 and 3 weeks post surgery and while those require a drive across the bridge, being near their offices would require a car just for getting around locally so I'm  thinking staying in SF  will be easier as well as less expensive.

I was supposed to go see him in May, but had to postpone. Mine is Jan 26, 6 weeks from now.  They like you to stay at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael because it's near their office.  Find Ruby Aliza on here.  She had hers in May and has great knowledge.  Good luck!

Meh, 10% still makes it nearly double what I can do with airbnb in SF and be in an area I'd far prefer to Marin County - great place and if I'm in good enough shape in the 2, 3 week followups we will be making a further excursion up to visit Santa Rosa.

Just be aware that it's a fair bit of slogging through dense traffic to get from the middle of San Francisco to San Rafael, especially in mid-afternoon to evening.  It's 'only' about 18 miles, or 40 minutes in what passes for light traffic.  (I've commuted in the area for several decades...)

Yep, I've spent enough time in SF to know the traffic patterns reasonably well :-/, just balancing all the options the best I know how.

The San Rafael area isn't as much fun as staying in San Francisco. It's a giant built-up and fairly old suburb.  Maybe 40 minutes by car from SF.

However, just south of San Rafael is the Larkspur ferry terminal. The ferry is a quick ride to the SF Ferry Building right at the foot of Market St.  Lots to do right there, and easy access to Muni , cabs, Uber. Lyft to get to Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39 tourist areas, Union Square, Chinatown. All places folks want to see, with lousy or expensive parking. The Exploratorium is a short walk up the waterfront and a neat place to wander around in.
