Hi people, I have a question for the Aussies,
Do you know or have you hear anything allowing people in Aus to change there gender marker on the birth certificates after they have had a orchi in aus as I havent been able to get a straight answer out of BDM Sydney or do they insist on having full srs to qualify for gender marker change ?
Most of my paper work 90% has Ms on it but would like to have the M changed to F so I dont get asked stupid question asked from time to time....
Ive also asked the GC in sydney but never heard back from them...

Cheers Tracy

I was looking at the paperwork just the other day. They constantly refer to Sex Reassignment Surgery...although I haven't gotten around to reading the small print to determine if that would include an orchi.

The paper work requires two different doctors to confirm, with signed and witnessed statements, that you have undergone "Sex Reassignment Surgery".

It might be that the Gender Centre in Annandale can provide clarification for you.
