You know, I refer to clothes as innie's and outties.

Eg, Boots cut jeans, are outtie pants, designed for innie shoes.
I realy make a fuss about it too.

Dad, cant you just put these boots on.

I'm an innie, though I was less of an innie when I was less of a tubby. 

Can the method of cutting and tying the umbilical cord make a difference?  I think I recall that in old National Geographics, outies were common and sometimes pronounced in some cultures.
