Silly question, perhaps; why not try both and compare?
I've been on injectible estradiol almost forever. Overall, results have been very good, though it's the "troughs" that have long worried me-especially as I've always done everything possible and affordable to also prevent and reverse hair loss. For the most part I've been successful-though according to this report on the efficacy of PRP therapy, Finasteride may do things that even Dutasteride can't.
http://selphyl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/The-Effect-of-PRP-in-Hair-Regrowth-sctm20150107-Gentile.pdf I've always used 2% then 5% minoxidil, but went off Fin when Dut came out in 2003.
I'm over 50 but am very fit, stay away from all toxins (well junk food sometimes) and have great skin; orchiectomy 1997. I'm anxious to ask my endo about trying whatever brand patches and strengths will work for me without the headaches, fever, palpitations, sweats on other nasty side affects that I always got with estradiol pills-no matter what the dose/frequency.
The big question is will the right brand patch and strength per week give better results than the injections?
Are there any particular brand patches that adhere best AND then to give the most consistent flow of estradiol before replacement?
Or would minimal troughing from the possibly more consistent dosing of the patch-compared to the injections-even matter much, give my orchiectomy? Still, what, if any, feminizing and/or other health benefits might I receive by switching to patches?
And has anyone noticed any hair regrowth and/or hair shaft thickness improvements by using a particular brand of patch and/or strength after they switched from using pills or estradiol injections ?
But IF patches turn out not to offer any benefits after some months of use in my case, and if they also prove to be considerably more expensive, then for those like me who can't bear to use needles, self-injecting high viscosity meds the old-fashioned way will soon likely become obsolete. See my post here.

miracles-and affordable ones at that-perhaps even beginning as early as next year.
