Coming out to my son

My son is finally 16 years old and he has told me that he likes boy and he hang around with girls. He has no boy friends, just girl friends.

I was wondering if 16 is too early for me to come out tell him about myself.

Seeing that your son is likely gay, it would be an excellent time to have a heart to heart discussion with him. I suspect it could be a bonding experience if he realizes that both of you are  part of the LGBT family. We have member who have had the transgender discussion with very young children and all the way up to adulthood. There is no special age and it comes down to when you are ready for it.
