Congratulations. Now...

Fasten your seat belts, and please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times, because you are about to take the ride of your life.

It starts off slow, and then one day soon...

Thanks everyone

Although I'm looking forward to the journey , my personal biggest hopes are for mind set and self acceptance. My SO is having a hard time getting her head around it all and thinks things are moving a little fast. I'm really hoping we can get through it as she is my rock.

Marie

I am so happy for you now starting HRT - it is just so fantastic as you stick on the first patch and swallow the first tablet!

I also wish you every success with your discussions with your SO; I hope she soon understands that it will make you happy and thus hopefully make both of you happy.

Hugs

Pamela

My spouse has been the same way.  She has been my protector in all things.  But I would mention something that I want to do that is upcoming and we end up have a bad conversation. It's hard to explain to them that we want this done now and this instant but they are wanting a slow slow slow change.  Change is hard for people when they may not want it.

Hi Marie,

Congrats on the HRT and good luck with your SO. This can be very hard for them so please give her time to absorb what is happening. Help her with it all you can and if possibly get her to talk with a therapist. Possibly with you there also.

Hugs,
  Laurie

All we can do is wish you the best. The HRT will do amazing things to and for your mind, oh yes and your body as well. It's easy to say take it slow but I'm the last one to say that. Your wife needs your care and attention and your honesty. Never stop talking with her and try to always include her. I didn't do that at first but I have been fortunate that she loves me so much and has agreed now to go along for the ride of our life. She is even buying clothes for me now and introducing me to colorsI would never have even considered or looked at.
