Binder question, positioning?

I recently bought my first 'proper' binder (though not as proper as underworks etc - I went for a side opening half-length thing partly because of ease of putting it on given my unstable fingers and wrists that can't pull much!)

I was on the border between sizes and went for the larger which I now regret a bit because it feels a little loose to me. Live and learn.

But as with when I was wearing sports bras, what is with the breast positioning issues?!  ??? :icon_confused2:
They won't stay put under there and I always end up with something that looks like one somewhat flattened, wide lump in the middle of my chest instead. Is there any kind of taping technique that could help them to stay more...outward? Separate?
My chest gives me the most dysphoria, always has done. I hated having them there ever since they arrived.
Even if I ever decided to and was able to access top surgery, I'm not even sure if that would work for me between the weight loss effects and my wonky collagen (previously thought EDS but my genetic sequencing seems to indicate a different collagen-related issue). My skin doesn't behave itself in general, much like my joints.

Anyone else found a way to keep things in place?

When I used to bind I would pull them up and towards my arm pits. Although, I know many people pull them down and out rather than up and out like I did. It'll take just a few minutes in front of a mirror to figure out which way works best for you.
Also, the "wide lump" might go away more if you go outwards when positioning everything.

All I can say is... I'm presently working my way through a pile of binders to see which ones I like.  ??? They are all different. You may have to experiment.

Godspeed. The struggle is real.

Yes, you need to experiment which way work best for you.  I like down and out for me seems to feel and look best for me.  Also depends on your overall frame size and their size, and how old you are does make a difference too.

I realise your replies were ages ago - I can be useless at remembering to do stuff when I'm acutally on my computer (can't type well on my tablet)

Thanks for the advice, guys.

I think I indeed need to try a different binder.
At the moment no matter what I do, it just pushes them together! I try to wiggle them out, but they quickly work their way back. Whether, up down sideways.... gaaaaaah.
Maybe as I've got older they have just worked their way around the sides a bit? So anything constricting that pulls in the sides a bit also pushes them forward? Dunno...
Will save up for another binder.
And maybe try out a little bit of micropore tape around the front just to position them.

blackcat, absolutely! The struggle is real... and a bit annoying!
