Hi, I'm not sure how to talk about myself outside of a story setting but I'll try. I recently opened up to my best friend and my little sister about me being a Trans women (not at the same time but yeah). I wish I can say this is all strange but its really not, I've been all over the internet grabbing all the information I can get (that's kind of my thing I use or used (haven't been able to for a while now) writing stories mostly fantasy as a coping mechanisms for my stress and inner feelings). I don't want to bore anyone with my history (unless asked) but between how I was raised and the military I've never been true to myself till now, yeah it was a big deal at first but now I just want the whole world to know the real me. I feel like I have to explain myself but I know this is a judge free zone, (not many of them in my past experiences) feel free to ask me anything, if its about me personally the answer might come up as something bland lol. I enjoy pretty much anything that can help take my mind off the everyday. My birth name is Adam, I'm working towards someday going by Sophia, but for the purpose of here you can call me Amaki. Btw, because I know people will wonder, I finally opened up because of a combination of things, depression was really kicking my *** (bad) dealing with my anxiety, and I knew my best friend would understand because he... well she is also transgender and made it clear to our group of friends, yes I had someone to talk to that I trusted. Now I come to you all for more trust and help understanding and whatever lol Friends make the world go around. And if your curious I told my sister because well we've always been close (she's the only one that knows in my family right now).

I have no idea what to expect (kind of the fun when you spend your whole life knowing exactly what to expect). And sadly no I've never actually finished any of my stories mostly because endings might be easy but getting to them are hard lol.

That's me in a nutshell I hope if nothing else I can meet people here that I can call upon as I hope that can call upon me.

Welcome, Sophia/Amaki!

Susans is a great place to really have an endearing community, I feel.  It's wonderful having a wealth of voices to offer advice, comfort you, and share many of your interests!

For me, I had been browsing though all sorts of things online for decades as well as just my general interests throughout my life, without really even thinking I might be transgender; even going as far to watch several transition journey videos on Youtube. So THAT might actually be weird, to you lol  I am glad you found a coping mechanism in writing!  I don't believe I've heard of many transgender authors or written stories(but then again, I'm also new to everything still) besides the writer's thread here on Susans.

What you think is boring, is probably relatable. And people resonate with relatable situations, life tends to be a bit boring, but at least from my own experience so far, every small thing during your transition has such vastly more significance than you can ever imagine.  I ask you, to please share and mingle with everyone at Susans!

Much love,
Eryn
