Had a nice 8 day vacation visiting my brother and his family, got back last Wednesday. Was pretty interesting to see how much stuff can change just by going a few states over, was seriously thinking about possibly moving out that direction until some research revealed it is pretty bad for LGBTQ stuff.. probably should have expected that since it is kind of in the south.

It was nice because I wasn't really focusing on the gender stuff for a bit, had a few moments where it popped back into my mind, but otherwise it was a nice break overall. Once I got back though, I pretty much immediately started researching into transitioning again. More determined now to actually seriously pursue transition.

My biggest limitation has been my lack of driving, but that should be resolved sometime after I get my car fixed. Also working on my resume and planning on applying to a few Starbucks' jobs near my college campus.

Also spent some time thinking about the family situation, and decided that I have let the fear of losing my family dictate to much of my life the past few years. At a pretty decent spot now for transitioning, my mom is kind of okay with me at least being transgender, not so much the HRT aspect, my younger brother is finally old enough that I won't completely confuse him by transitioning(not to mention I probably won't go full time until I move into my own apartment), and my nieces and nephews are still young enough that they probably won't remember too much of the transition part.. Plus they are in other states so it doesn't effect them much anyways. For my dad and other brothers, I don't care as much as I used to, plus my one brother is about to enlist in the military, or at least move to an apartment near our school.

All that is really left to figure out, is how I am going to go about trying to get on HRT. I am seeing now just how slow my healthcare provider is with anything involving hormones, since my mom is going through her own health issues through them, she met with her doctor like two months ago and is still waiting to go to the stupid class that is required before she can see a specialist. So, I am probably going to just drive the extra hour and go to Planned Parenthood.

Also going to seriously spend some time looking for support groups and stuff near my college, I think our GSA kind of just faded into nothingness as people graduated and transferred, but the LGBTQ center is like 10min from campus.

Edit: Never mind on PP, doesn't look like any of them in Southern California offer transgender care?

@MadisonDavina    Getting away from your routine and going away on vacation is a great way to gain a fresh perspective on how you will handle your life's problems, issues, and your path forward.
It is so easy to get bogged down in our familiar daily grind.  Yes, just changing locations to a nearby state with a different demeanor regarding social groups and biases can be a refreshing eye opener or, as you discovered it might end up being a place that you will want to avoid.

Wishing you well as you search for ways to start HRT and finding the necessary medical help.   I hope that you find the LGBTQ center near your college campus and find that your future visits there to be helpful to you.
Thanks for sharing,

Danielle
