Having surgery in 3 more days. Was wondering what I should buy or need. Some tricks and shortcuts maybe?

Just follow your doctors orders!  I wore nightgowns and sleep pants during recovery so I didn't need street clothes.  The doctor provided sanitary pads and such.  See if you will need to procure your own.  Same with extra underwear.  I was released from the hospital with enough to cover the time in recovery.   Make sure you eat well enough to regain your strength.  Surgery zaps the energy out of you.
Best of luck, Judi
But now old friends they're acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

Most anything you need can be provided by the nursing staff so if you need something, ask. The primary thing you need to take with you is entertainment. Try to bring things you don't need to concentrate deeply on because with pain killers you may not feel like it at first. What you should do before leaving is make sure you have enough food and other things to take care of yourself when you return home. You might also need a good supply of paper towels, lubrication jelly and pads or old towels to protect your bed while dilating.

After surgery you should be able to get around reasonably well but you endurance might not be what your used to so try to minimize what you need to do when you return home.

  Hi  Queenie,

I'm Laurie, the wandering waif of Susan's Place. I see that you are new here. So please let me say, Welcome To Susan's Place! Come on in and take a good look around.  Perhaps I can even get you to hop on over to the Introductions Thread and  create a post to tell us a little bit more about yourself so we can get to know you a little better and greet you properly. I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them especially the RED one as we are always getting questions that are answered there.

A hand held mirror helped me with dilation (finding the correct location) and inspecting the surgical sit. My doctor provided the #1 and #2 dilators which was fine for a while but I had to get a case of lube and #3 and #4 dilators.

I would have liked to take collagen ( 3 to 4 ounces per day in powder form). It helps in tissue and skin healing. My doctor advised eating more protein during recovery; which can make collagen with green leafy vegetables and vitamin C.  Alternatively jello is a good way to get the collagen. (Collagen lacks one amino acid that jello has) Also, another alternative is bone broth.

Neosporin

A light to help inspect the vagina. I used my cell phone light.

Quick meals pre-made.

Have anything heave already purchased in in your home such as bottled water, soda and a case of soup.

Thank you guys. This helps alot. What foods do you think I should eat? They gave me a list of what to AVOID, but not eat. What are foods that are filling? I can't sleep on an empty stomach!
